Blood Pressure Monitoring

Overview

Blood pressure readings have traditionally been taken using an analogue pressure gauge. This can be replaced with a standalone unit incorporating a low-cost MCU and a display.

Adding a low-cost MCU with Embedded Video Engine (EVE) IC and a small display brings many benefits including:

• The use of colour graphics to add a modern feel to the interface
• Display readings using modern numerical readouts
• Create traditional gauges on the screen display with dynamic scales and digital readout combined
• Show warnings on-screen if the reading is outside of normal limits
• Use audio features to sound alerts in different tones

• Custom fonts allow multi-language support and symbols such as blood pressure
• Works with almost any MCU as an SPI peripheral (use EVE with your preferred/existing MCU)
• Video playback from flash allows user instruction videos/animations to be played
• Audio output and built-in sounds allow touch feedback and alert sounds to be easily added
