Marine Dashboard Display

Overview

Marine craft such as power boats, yachts, and jet skis, traditionally use analogue gauges for the control of bow thrusters, sonar, pumps etc. and to read parameters such as engine speed, oil temperature, wind speed, wind direction etc.

These gauges and dials can be replaced with a Touch Screen Display dramatically improving both the first impressions of a craft, and the user experience. This includes both appearance/styling and practical functionality. Modern vessels also have a much greater range of information to present to the crew, but it is vital that this is presented in a clear and concise way. Using a graphical display provides these benefits and helps overcome many of the trade-offs with traditional dials. The AEC-qualified BT817A is ideal but If AEC qualification is not needed, other EVE devices can also be used.

Using an EVE-based colour graphical display with touch brings many benefits for this application including:

  • Create an attractive and user-friendly dashboard
  • Display custom gauges and numerical readouts
  • Design the dashboard from the ground up with full flexibility
  • Provide different styles and themes for the user to select
  • Drive screens in a variety of shapes and form-factors, for example 1280×800 resolution and 12.3” wide format screens
  • Smaller displays can also be used for Jet Skis, such as 4” circular displays or custom shapes
