Overview

Elevator control panels traditionally are comprised of mechanical buttons for floor selection with an accompanying fixed segment display for indicating the current floor. However, there is a growing trend in adding colour graphical touchscreens to replace both the floor indication display and the floor selection buttons on the control panel.

Here are just some of the ways that adding an EVE-enabled colour touch display can help:

  • Display information about the floor itself such as the department or company name in different languages
  • Use graphics to make the panel more attractive and welcoming
  • Easily integrate touch control into the interface
  • Use audio sound tones and alerts to the user (arriving at a floor, doors closing etc.)

Key Features:

The following key features of EVE make it ideal for an elevator control panel application:

  • Resistive or Capacitive touch interface to suit different applications
  • Extensive graphical capabilities and bitmap support for an attractive user interface design
  • Custom fonts allow multi-language support rather than different controller versions for each region
  • Audio tone generation for touch acknowledgement and user alerts with minimal effort from the MCU
  • Custom bitmap support to align application look and feel requirements
  • Variety of screen sizes supported to suit different control panel form factors (e.g. 3.5”, 5”, 7”, 10”)
  • EVE takes the workload of generating the graphics and processing touch away from the MCU
  • Software tools, examples and technical support from Bridgetek avoid steep learning curves
