Overview

Traditional oven controls normally consist of mechanical dials for setting the temperature along with an LED indication that the oven is at temperature. Additional features such as timers and clocks can be awkward to set for users due to the minimal controls available. Adding new features such as presets, timers, and temperature indication can involve design and cost trade-offs if the user interface is to remain user-friendly.

An EVE-enabled touch display provides an ideal solution for this, as it allows the designer to provide an attractive full colour user interface as well as allowing the user to control the oven via touch. Resistive and capacitive touch versions are available, with the resistive touch being well-suited to operation with gloves whilst capacitive touch offers a more smartphone-like touch operation as well as multi-touch capability (up to 5 simultaneous touches) for gestures.
