Bridgetek’s IC Development Kits (IDKs) are comprehensive evaluation platforms designed to accelerate prototyping, testing, and integration of Embedded Video Engine (EVE) graphics controllers which bring Graphics, Touch and Audio to your application. These kits combine development boards, matched LCD panels, and host interface solutions (for connecting via USB or to an MCU) into ready-to-use packages, enabling engineers to quickly explore display performance and graphical user interface (GUI) development.

Connect to a computer via USB-SPI/QSPI (on-board or via the included bridge adapter depending on the kit) for fast and easy UI development using our software tools. Then attach your MCU to continue development and testing and to integrate your user interface into your main product.

Why Use IC Development Kits?

  • Rapid prototyping: Pre‑validated hardware and software reduce setup time.
  • Complete integration: Kits include LCD Display Panels with touch interfaces, EVE Development board, speakers, and interconnects.
  • Flexibility: Multiple display sizes (4.3″, 5.0″, 7.0″, 10.1″) and resolutions up to 1920 × 1200.
  • Scalability: Evaluate different generations of EVE controllers (EVE2:
  • Software support: Toolchains like EVE Screen Designer (ESD) provide preconfigured environments for simplified application development.

Getting Started (Step by Step)

1 – Unpack the Kit

Verify all components are included as listed below (see the IC Development Kits datasheet for the detailed list of items included with each kit).

  • LCD panel with touch support
  • Development board (contains the FT810, BT816, BT817, or BT820B EVE device)
  • USB-to-QSPI bridge (some kits have an integrated adaptor instead – see the USB-SPI/QSPI Bridge section of the table above)
  • Flex cables, headers, and speaker accessories

2 – Install Hardware Connections

Connect the LCD, touch panel, and bridge board following the kit-specific instructions. See our videos below to learn more [put a link to the section below with the videos per module]

  • Connect the display to the EVE module via the RGB or LVDS cable
  • Attach touch panel cable to the EVE module (via extension/adaptor where required)
  • Connect speaker to audio header (where external speaker is used)

3 – Configure Jumpers and Switches

Set DIP switches and jumpers to match power and communication requirements.

  • Check all jumper settings on the EVE module and VA-1001-01A Universal Adapter (where included) such as LED settings, bias voltages, and power jumpers
  • Connect the USB-SPI/QSPI bridge to the EVE module (or enable the bridge via DIP switches or jumpers for kits where the bridge is integrated to the EVE module)

4 – Connect to Host PC

Use the supplied USB-C cable to link the kit to your computer.

  • Plug into the USB-to-QSPI bridge or onboard FT4222
  • Connect to a USB port on your PC
  • It is recommended to avoid bus-powered hubs (those without their own power supply) as they many not be able to provide sufficient power to the kit

5 – Launch Software Toolchain

Install and run Bridgetek’s code examples or tools such as for GUI development.

  • Download and install ESD
  • Load example projects for quick evaluation
  • Begin customizing graphical

6 – Evaluate and Prototype

Test display performance, audio output, and GUI responsiveness.

  • Run sample code to render images
  • Adjust backlight and touch calibration
  • Prototype advanced display applications
