What is the difference between the MN820 and VM820C modules, and when would we choose either module?

The MN820 is a standalone System on Module (SoM) featuring the latest 5th generation EVE IC, the BT820B, and on-board 1Gbit DDR3L memory. It is designed to allow users to integrate the BT820B into products via the 100-pin board to board connector, reducing development time and associated DDR3L design complexity whilst streamlining product development.

The VM820C is a baseboard module designed to be used in conjunction with the MN820, including power circuitry, I/O connectors, audio circuitry and a USB- to QSPI bridging IC enabling smooth communication with external devices. The MN820 is included with the VM820C.

In summary, the VM820C acts as a technology demonstrator and development board, supporting developers to access the capabilities of the BT820B. The MN820 is a ready-to-integrate BT820B module which developers can use on the VM820C initially and then develop into their end-product.
